The Ashtead Tennis Players Club was formed in 1981 when a group of local tennis enthusiasts took a lease on the four courts in the recreation ground from Mole Valley District Council. Since then the club has flourished and grown to its present size of just under 150 members. The clubhouse was built in 1991, and more recently floodlights were installed. In March 2009 the two members' courts were resurfaced, and the fencing renewed, helped by a generous grant from The Thomas Flack Trust Fund.
You won't find better courts locally - or anywhere else!
Who can join?
New members of every age and ability are welcome, and those who can keep the ball going in a rally will be invited to join in the club sessions. If you're interested in joining, see our membership section, or drop us an email for more information.
Leagues and Competitions
There is a programme of competitions within the club, including round robin, knockout, and championship events.
We also compete in the Dorking and Leatherhead League during the summer, and the Surrey Winter League.
Our resident coach would be happy to discuss a programme of individual or group coaching.
British Tennis Membership
Ashtead Tennis Players Club is affiliated to British Tennis and the LTA , and all members of the club can join British Tennis for free.
